This is an experiment. I'm trying to take better pictures; at least one a day.

Day 29: Apple Upside Down Cake
My mom used to make this cake. It's AWESOME! She'd make 3 at a time; one for me, one for my brother, and one for everyone else.
When she died I thought I'd never eat it again.
One day, years after moving to Winnipeg, I came home one Friday night and the smell of it throughout the house made me 10 years old again. My wife found the recipe in Mom's old recipe box and decoded it.
Now this cake is my children's favourite. We fight over the last piece. I usually let them win ... but not always. ;-)

Day 28: Looking For Work
@dailyshoot The economy is in the news all the time. Make a photo that illustrates the economy or its impact on you in some way. #ds74
A little clarification: I was seconded by the Provincial government for two years in September 2009. Due to increasing financial restraint 6 people in my office, all secondees, had their secondments terminated early. We have jobs. We return to our school divisions in September. There is no promise that I will return to my former school and I may end up teaching something wildly different from mathematics. I'm trying to think of all this as a "when a door closes a window opens" kind of thing. If you know of any open windows you think I might fit through please let me know. ;-)

Day 10: Yumm, snow candy
Pour hot (~235°C) maple syrup on some hard packed snow and roll it around your popsicle stick. The best part is eating it.
Not quite a silhouette.
